Classic Cheeseburger

A juicy, classic cheeseburger with melted cheese, pickles, and fresh vegetables on a toasted bun.

Ingredients

  • 4 beef patties (1/2 inch thick)
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices red onion
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 4 pickle slices
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • 4 tbsp mustard
  • 4 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  2. Season the beef patties with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  4. Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns with butter until golden brown.
  6. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.
  7. Layer the lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle slices, and cheeseburger patty on the bottom bun.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun and serve with fries and ketchup.
